  1. WWW - Ranita, you begin to consider key features used and how they convey meaning and how they successfully promote the genre of the film.
EBI - You need to be careful with just making statements and not explaining them fully. With reference to the Smiley poster, you state that films generally use young white, blonde girls to make it more scary - how does using a young, white, blonde girl make it scary?
More needed on the image here - the mask in particular - consider the fact that the eyes and mouth are stitched - what is suggested by this? Consider how this links with the strap line - evil wears a smile - is it a natural smile? Think about the significance of the mask and the fact that it is hiding her face? What is suggested about the plot from this?
With reference to the Blair Witch Project - you state that they have written the information at the top of the page in a way that will make it scary - but you need to look at this more closely. What exactly does it say? How is this scary? How does it link with the image and the plot?
You comment on the use of witch and what that might suggest but you also need to comment on the use of the word 'project' - what does this suggest and how might this link with the image and what might it suggest about the plot? Consider the camera shot used for the image - it looks like a self taken photograph - what viewpoint might the film be told from? Could this link to the word 'project' in some way? Why do you think they have used black and why the woods at night? What does this suggest?
With reference to The Possession poster - you state that the pull quote at the top 'based on a true story' makes it scarier but you need to explain why it makes it sen scarier. Consider the image in more detail - why is the woman's head being pulled back - what might this suggest about what has possessed her? What is the significance of not being able to see her face?
