Feedback for film draft 2

When receiving feedback after our second draft of the film was shown, it was clear that our film was getting there, however there still needs some work to be done on the film.

  • In the scene where one of the actors jump out of the bush (Rajveer), it needs to have a more of a jump scare affect.
  • The sound in the film still needs to be worked on. In some of the scenes, when the actors are speaking, their voice is muffled making it difficult for the actors to be heard.
  • The sounds in the film needs to have a flow. When the sound is playing in one scene, it could flow into another scene. This would build up the tension of what is going to happen next.
  • In some of the scenes of the film, the sound comes in too sharp and too harshly
  • When the actors walk into the kitchen, the kitchen seems to be too 'neat'. To make it more apparent that something has happened in the house
  • There could be more blood trails on the cupboards in the kitchen.
  • There could also be a blood trail that is leading upstairs, where the character (Amandeep) follows, to find out what could have happened.
  • When (Amandeep) is in the bedroom and the door slams shut and locks, the shot could be taken longer to make it apparent that the door is being slammed shut and is being locked.
  • The sound of the door locking could be exaggerated
  • The sound of the light switch being switched on and off needs to be taken of. This is because it is obvious that someone is standing at the light switch and switching it on and off
  • When (Amandeep) gets closer to the ghost the scene needs to be slowed down. For example, when the light switches off the ghost could get closer to Amandeep, and when the light switches on, the audience will see that the ghost is getting closer and closer.
  • There could be an over the shoulder shot of Amandeep getting closer to the ghost.
  • When the scene moves back to downstairs, the camera could show that Rajveer has seen Amandeep possessed first. Once Amandeep has been seen by Rajveer, the dialogue of 'look' is said, and the camera pans over to the possessed person.
  • In the ending where the credits have been taken out, there could be an unexpected jump scare that the audience didn't realise was going to happen
As well as what the teachers had said, when watching the film back, I also realised that there needs to be changes that need to be made to the film.
For example, when Rajveer jumps out of the bushes at the beginning of the film, it made sense that it should be a jump scare that would scare the audience when they are watching the film.
This would be a good way of starting off the horror film as the audience will be able to get a glimpse of what the film will have in store.

  1. You need to organise your blog Ranita, keep your film work and poster work separate.
Consider anything that you felt needed changing as well as just focusing on what the teachers have said.
